"This is injustice": Sobchak responds to Sukhanov's verdict

Journalist Ksenia Sobchak has called the sentence against Kirill Sukhanov unjust, stating that he has fulfilled all conditions for mitigation. She expressed her opinion on the "Bloody Lady" Telegram channel.

"This is not just injustice. It is much more than that. Why ruin people's lives? Why 7.5 years? Why such disproportion? Is it just for the sake of revenge?" the television presenter lamented.

The day before, the court sentenced Ksenia Sobchak's former commercial director at "Caution Media", Kirill Sukhanov, to 7.5 years in prison for extorting 11 million rubles from Rostec head Chemezov. On February 8, it was reported that the regional prosecutor had demanded eight years in a high-security colony for him.

According to investigators, Sukhanov and his associates demanded 11 million rubles from Chemezov in exchange for not publishing defamatory information on social media. It is noted that the journalists planned to disseminate the information through the "Lights Out" Telegram channel, but their activities were halted by law enforcement.

Sobchak stated that she has no connection to the activities of the Telegram channel "Minor Lights" and other related platforms. However, in February 2023, the television presenter attended a session of the Moscow City Court, where Sukhanov's appeal was discussed.
