Russian Peacekeepers' Deployment Terms Discussed Only with Azerbaijani Side: Galuzin
“Now, Nagorno-Karabakh is integrating into the legal framework of Azerbaijan. Unfortunately, most of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh have left the region. This was their hard but voluntary choice,” said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin in an interview with TASS.
The diplomat noted that, considering the radical changes in the situation in Karabakh, the terms of deployment for Russian peacekeepers are being discussed only with the Azerbaijani side. “It should be noted that our dialogue with partners is constructive. We resolve all emerging issues in a mutually acceptable manner. As for the extension of the Russian peacekeeping contingent's mandate after November 2025, this will depend on the situation in the region, the demand for their continued presence, and corresponding agreements with Baku,” Galuzin stated.
