The Media Ethics Observer Body Responds to Garegin Khumaryan's Case
The Council of the Public Broadcaster, under whose governance the broadcasting companies are members of the self-regulatory initiative of Armenian media and journalists, has appealed to the Media Ethics Observer Body of Armenia for an expert opinion regarding the actions of the Executive Director of Public Radio, Garegin Khumaryan.
In accordance with the Law on Audiovisual Media of the Republic of Armenia, the Council has the authority to independently assess the compliance of Garegin Khumaryan's actions with ethical and legal norms; however, considering the wide public response related to the incident, the Council seeks the opinion of a body with the appropriate mandate and expertise.
