Roads Closed and Difficult to Navigate in Armenia
The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within the territory of Armenia.
Until February 15, due to road renovation works, the section of the M-6 highway near Vanadzor-Alaverdi, between kilometers 38-40, will be closed for buses and cargo vehicles with trailers or semi-trailers. A detour will operate through the town of Noyemberyan.
The Vardenyats Pass (snowstorm) is closed, as well as the Berd-Jambarak road, and the roads leading from the ‘Amberd’ high mountainous meteorological station in Aragatson region to the Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake.
The roads from Jrarber to Fantan (snowstorm) and from Kaputan to Zovashen (snowstorm) are difficult to navigate for all types of vehicles.
About Lars: According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia’s Emergency Management Department and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia’s North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is only open for passenger cars. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
