New Borders Drawing Authority Is Not Granted to Anyone: Mirzoyan
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, stated that Azerbaijan has not continued its constructive approach towards relations with Armenia.
“This was evident in the context of the 7th editorial proposals of the Armenian-Azerbaijani contract and the interview of the President of Azerbaijan. There was a significant regression here, which can be said to strike a blow to the peace process on several key issues. This pertains both to the recognition of territorial integrity in general and to specific areas and borders. You may recall that the President of Azerbaijan referred to some maps from 1918-20 or spoke about drawing new borders. I want to emphasize that no one has the authority to draw new borders. We remain resolute in our position that in the process of delimitation, the commissions should reproduce the borders drawn on legal grounds as they existed at the moment of the collapse of the USSR, as stated in the Alma-Ata Declaration,” he said.
