Video: Armenia Needs to Open the Map and See Its Neighbors, Zakharova
Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has commented on the statement made by NATO representative Javier Colomina regarding NATO's relations and rapprochement with Yerevan.
“If someone wants rapprochement, they must understand how safe it is and what consequences it may bring. We have seen what the rapprochement of many countries with NATO leads to: involvement in conflicts, loss of independence and sovereignty, subjection to foreign planning, and, most importantly, the inability to serve one's own national interests. First, we need to understand what benefits Armenia itself and its national interests are. We need to open the map and see in which region Armenia is located, what neighbors this country has, read the history book, and analyze all this. Such intimacy implies severing or damaging ties with the countries in the region. What benefits Armenia in the short or long term should be the starting point, not mere promises. The West makes promises to everyone, but we need to see where the reality stands,” she said. Watch the details in the video.
