Dear colleagues, the ban on sig fishing has not been extended, but will be allowed only after the relevant decision by the government, as has been the case in all previous years.
This was stated by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Environment on their Facebook page.
“Starting from November 15, fishing for sig in Lake Sevan is prohibited until the quantities and periods for industrial fishing are approved. From November 25, 2023, to January 20, 2024, inclusive, strict measures have been implemented across the republic due to the sig spawning period,” the spokesperson added.
