What Does Baku Want After Aliyev's Statements Today? An Expert's Commentary
Iranian expert Vardan Voskanian writes: “Since the beginning of this year, against the backdrop of the noticeable rhetorical activation by the barbaric regimes of Baku and Erdogan regarding the so-called 'Zangezur Corridor', which is in fact the 'Turkic Corridor', the tyrant of Baku has effectively presented an ultimatum to Armenia, boasting that people and goods must pass through this 'corridor' without inspection.
Let me remind you that prior to this, officials of Baku’s barbaric regime deceitfully claimed that this 'corridor' was actually beneficial for Armenia, while they were no longer interested in it because the same road could go through Iran. However, I have repeatedly insisted that this assertion is a minor deception that should not be entertained.
Now everything is very clear and evident, and again, as I have mentioned many times, Baku’s barbaric administration does not seek peace; rather, it aims for the destruction of Armenia as a geopolitical actor, essentially creating a reservation of 'Ermanistan', which should even be called 'Western Azerbaijan'. Therefore, it is at least foolish to continue living in illusions, and we must create a fortress-state in Armenia.” Earlier, Aliyev announced that if the Zangezur Corridor does not open, they do not intend to open a border with Armenia elsewhere.
