Traffic Temporarily Halted from Jermuk Junction to Syunik Province
Today, December 25, due to adverse weather conditions, an emergency situation has arisen on the road from Syunik Province to Vayots Dzor Province. This information has been reported by shamshyan.com.
According to the news outlet, for the past three hours, the patrol officers of the Vayots Dzor provincial department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia have temporarily halted traffic from the Jermuk junction to Vayots Dzor in the interest of the safety of drivers and citizens.
Both directions of vehicle movement have been suspended, not because of the roads in Vayots Dzor Province, but due to the treacherous icy conditions of the roads from Syunik Province to Vayots Dzor, which have made travel exceedingly difficult. As vehicles were attempting to move, artificial traffic congestion was created, and the patrol officers, alongside rescuers and road maintenance workers, struggled significantly to remove the vehicles to safe locations.
It should be noted that Auroranews is working to clarify additional information.
