If Half of the Fine is Paid Within 15 Days, the Obligation Will be Considered Fulfilled: New Bill
The government proposes to make changes to the Administrative Violations Code. In particular, it is proposed that if a citizen pays half of the fine for violating traffic rules within 15 days, the entire fine will be considered paid.
Additionally, if a citizen registers on roadpolice.am and wishes to receive notifications about violations via email, the amount of the fine will be reduced by 5%.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan suggested changing the framework to also encourage digitization: "I believe the discount for receiving notifications electronically should be 30%, and an additional 30% should be applied if the fine is paid within 15 days," he stated, adding that without incentivizing norms, the process of digitization will proceed slowly.
"If a citizen pays 70% of the fines that are pending in the judicial enforcement department since the adoption of the law, the bill stipulates this, but I believe we can apply a 50% discount with the introduction of this new system; that is, if half is paid, the debt will be forgiven," the Prime Minister declared.
