The Dates for Signing the Armenian-Azerbaijani Agreement Should Be Determined by the Parties, Says Zakharova
The timeline for the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan depends on the parties involved. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a press briefing, commenting on the joint statement made by Yerevan and Baku.
“We welcome the mutual agreement between Baku and Yerevan to regulate relations and sign a peace treaty. We also support their agreement on the exchange of prisoners of war under a ‘all-for-all’ formula, which contributes to the mutual strengthening of trust and opens up additional possibilities for reconciliation in accordance with the agreements made by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia between 2020 and 2022,” stated Zakharova.
In turn, Moscow is ready to continue supporting its partners in the development of a balanced agreement. Such a document is aimed at creating reliable foundations for sustainable peace and stability in the region.
