The Largest Contract in Sports History Signed
The Japanese player Shohei Ohtani has signed a contract with Major League Baseball's (MLB) Los Angeles Dodgers. The athlete announced this on his Instagram. The information is reported by TASS.
According to ESPN, Ohtani's agreement is set for 10 years. During this period, he will earn $700 million. The broadcast network indicates that this contract is the largest in the history of global sports.
The previous record was set in July 2020 in American football when Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes signed a 10-year contract worth $503 million.
Ohtani is 29 years old and previously played for the Los Angeles Angels.
