Armenia's Foreign Ministry on the Restoration of the Ani Bridge
Armenia and Turkey have yet to take practical steps towards the restoration of the Ani Bridge. This was stated by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to a query from Sputnik Armenia.
“During the visit of the Armenian Foreign Minister to Turkey on February 15 of this year, an agreement was reached regarding the renovation of the Ani Bridge; however, so far no practical work has been carried out in this direction,” the response indicated.
The media noted that in August it was reported that the project for the restoration of the Ani Bridge was essentially on hold. At that time, the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports stated that negotiations with the Turkish side were not being conducted regarding this matter.
It should be remembered that Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced at a joint press conference held in Ankara on February 15 that Armenia and Turkey will renovate the Ani border bridge.
