Navalny Calls for Participation in Upcoming Russian Presidential Elections
The leader of the Russian opposition, Alexei Navalny, who is serving his sentence in a penal colony in the Vladimir region, has called on his compatriots to participate in the presidential elections scheduled for March 17 of next year and to vote against the current president, Vladimir Putin.
This statement was posted on his social media page. 'Any election, even the most rigged, raises doubts; people think about who is in power and why. The main issue for the Russian opposition, for all honest citizens, is to address those doubts and explain that Putin, who has held power for 24 years and is now 71, should not remain for another six years. He will harm Russia, and he must leave,' wrote the opposition politician on his microblog.
It should be noted that the presidential elections in Russia will take place on March 17, 2024.
