Armenia Will Continue to Prepare and Contribute Forces to International Peacekeeping Missions: Deputy Minister of Defense
From December 5-6, a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan participated in the UN Peacekeeping Ministerial in Accra, Ghana. This meeting is organized by the UN every two years to discuss international peacekeeping issues. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister Arman Sargsyan delivered a speech affirming Armenia's commitment to continue preparing and contributing forces for international peacekeeping missions.
Within the framework of the event, Arman Sargsyan held a working meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for Programs and Operations Rachael Shilller and Director of the Global Peace Operations Initiative Jennifer Puliam. Matters related to bilateral cooperation were discussed.
During a brief meeting with Jean-Pierre Lacroix, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Arman Sargsyan presented the programs being implemented in Armenia aimed at preparing forces for international peacekeeping.
