Warning of Terrorism Threats in the EU During the New Year
The escalation of the Middle Eastern conflict, along with the polarization in European society related to it, has created high risks for terrorist attacks during the Christmas and New Year celebrations in the EU. This was reported by EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson.
"The war between Israel and Hamas, as well as the polarization that has arisen from it in our society, has significantly increased the risk of terrorist attacks in the EU during the upcoming holidays," she stated.
According to her, preventing such threats will be one of the topics on the agenda of today’s council meeting of the interior ministers of EU countries.
