No Plans to Shut Down Armenia's Nuclear Power Plant, Says IAEA Director General
Armenia's nuclear power plant is following the recommendations and guidelines of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) while closely cooperating with the Agency. The Agency is confident that Armenia is carrying out serious work regarding the safety of its nuclear facility.
This was stated by Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, in an interview with Armenpress.
"Armenia's nuclear power plant is following the recommendations and instructions of the IAEA. This is very important. Significant renovation work has been carried out at the nuclear plant, which was necessary. Thus, we can continue to operate. The extension of the operational deadline for the nuclear power plant should be for several years, and we are satisfied with how this work has been carried out," Grossi said.
