Russian Relocants Discuss Rising Prices in Armenia
In 2022, 100,000 Russians relocated to Armenia. RBK recalls the statement made by Vahan Kerobyan, the acting Minister of Economy. Armenia has surpassed Georgia and Kazakhstan in the growth of monetary transfers from Russia, with 32 billion rubles transferred there in October 2023.
The majority of those who relocated are considered 'relocants,' categorized into those who arrived in 'March,' 'September,' and those who came 'out of season.'
How has the resettlement of Russians affected the prices of services in Armenia? One Russian who settled in Armenia shared, 'The comfortable option starts from $3,000 for one person.' Another added that the price of gasoline in Armenia is 142 rubles per liter. They shared that infrastructure is beginning to be developed for Russians in Armenia, and it is possible to establish an IT business in Armenia within 15 minutes.
