Why the Parking Fee is Set at 160,000 Drams: Suren Grigoryan Clarifies
The Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Suren Grigoryan, has clarified why the proposed annual parking fee for the small Center of Yerevan is set at 160,000 drams. He stated, ‘The amount is not aimed at generating more revenue from payments in this area of the budget. The fee is established to encourage citizens who have the opportunity to park for a long time in the small Center to avoid doing so.’
He added, ‘We do not want citizens to pay the fee and come; rather, we would prefer that they either do not pay and not come to the Center or find alternative means of transportation.’
Grigoryan reminded that the Center is divided into A and B zones, stating, ‘Those who have business on Abovyan Street can park on Baghramyan Avenue and walk a bit.’
