Israel Offers Proposal for Release of All Women and Children: The Times
The Times, citing a source familiar with the negotiations, reports that Israeli representatives are willing to extend the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for another three days if the Palestinian Hamas movement releases all women and children hostages.
According to the publication, Israeli authorities believe that Hamas captured around 100 Israeli women and children on the first day of the war. Israeli negotiators had previously indicated that the maximum duration of the ceasefire would be ten days; however, The Times notes that military officials want to resume the assault on Gaza 'before it loses momentum.'
