Why Pope Francis Canceled Saturday Audiences
Pope Francis has canceled his Saturday audiences due to feeling unwell. This was reported by Reuters, referencing the Holy See's press office.
“Today’s planned audiences for the Pope have been canceled due to a mild flu condition,” the statement read.
The 86-year-old pontiff regularly meets with Vatican officials on Saturdays and also holds private audiences. Earlier in November, during one of his audiences, Pope Francis complained about feeling unwell and suggested that his written speech be passed on to attendees instead of reading it himself.
Later, the Holy See’s press office reported that the Pope had a mild cold, but on the same day, he participated in a meeting with several thousand children who had come to the Vatican from all over the world.
