Pashinyan Addresses Negotiation Process with Azerbaijan
An Arabist asked Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan a question related to security, inquiring why Azerbaijan refuses to negotiate with Armenia based on the three agreed principles and whether it can be assumed that after displacing the Armenians of Artsakh and seizing control of Artsakh, new demands are being raised.
“At this moment, it is still unclear and evident whether Azerbaijan ultimately agrees to confirm a peace treaty with Armenia based on the three principles. It is not clear; we cannot confidently assert that Azerbaijan is refusing to sign a peace treaty based on these three principles, but we also cannot safely say that Azerbaijan reaffirms its commitment to these three principles. There is a necessity to clarify these issues and nuances during the negotiations. In the near future, a discussion on at least the borders and maps is expected,” responded the Prime Minister of Armenia.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is answering questions from citizens and compatriots in the diaspora in a live broadcast. Citizens have submitted around 500 questions to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. He stated that he cannot respond to all, but questions containing specific issues will be directed to the relevant agencies.
