We Are Ready to Open Communications if the Other Side Expresses Such a Desire, Says Azerbaijani Prime Minister
Azerbaijan is ready to open communications in the South Caucasus region. This was stated by Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov at the International Silk Road Forum in Tbilisi, in response to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's remarks.
“The Azerbaijani side is interested in opening communications, but this depends not only on us. We are ready to start the process if the other side expresses such a desire,” he noted.
It should be reminded that during the same event, Pashinyan stated in his speech that building peace in the South Caucasus is impossible without opening the roads. He presented the “Peace Crossroads” project and added that a special subdivision will be created within Armenia's law enforcement system in the near future, responsible for ensuring the security of international communications passing through Armenia, as well as the passage of cargo, vehicles, and people in cooperation with the patrol police.
