David Galstyan Denies Reports of His Uncle's Appointment as Stepanakert's Mayor
David Galstyan, a member of the "Justice" faction in the Nagorno-Karabakh Parliament, denies reports that his uncle, Sarkis Galstyan, has been appointed as the mayor of Stepanakert by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's administration.
"According to the information I have, there is no such thing. It is just malicious gossip that has been spread. Soon, facts will emerge regarding what Sarkis Galstyan is actually doing. I cannot make decisions about Sarkis Galstyan or influence his decisions. His children are in Yerevan, and targeting Sarkis Galstyan's family based on some unproven written claims is quite frankly... I find it difficult to express what I feel," Galstyan told Armenpress.
He also noted that currently, Sarkis Galstyan and his wife, along with a number of Armenians, are in Stepanakert.
