290 People Admitted to Medical Centers with Burn Injuries Following Explosion in Artsakh
On September 25, a major explosion occurred in a fuel storage facility in the Askeran region, resulting in a total of 290 patients being admitted with varying degrees of burn injuries to the Republic of Artsakh's Ministry of Health's "Republican Medical Center," "Arevik" Medical Center, the Ivanyan treatment point, and the Russian peacekeepers' medical post. This information was reported by the Artsakh information headquarters.
The majority of the patients were transferred to the "Republican Medical Center." Unfortunately, seven patients could not be saved and have died in the hospital. Dozens of injured individuals remain in critical condition.
Thirteen unidentified bodies have been transferred to the "Bureau of Forensic Medical Examination." Numerous individuals are considered missing as they were burned in the explosion, and additional information regarding their status is yet to be clarified.
Doctors and medical staff in Stepanakert are doing their utmost in these difficult and limited conditions to save the lives of the injured. We will provide further updates on the developments.
