CEC Summarizes Yerevan City Council Elections in Extraordinary Session
The composition of the Yerevan City Council will include 5 parties. Today, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) summarized the election results during an extraordinary session.
The CEC recorded that out of 824,317 eligible voters, 234,442 participated in the voting, which is only 28.44% of those entitled to vote.
The final election results are as follows:
- "Civil Contract" Party: 75,494 votes (32.57%)
- "National Progress" Party: 43,797 votes (18.89%)
- "Mother Armenia" Party Alliance: 35,807 votes (15.47%)
- "Republic" Party: 26,233 votes (11.32%)
- "Public Voice" Party: 22,447 votes (9.68%)
The CEC also noted that the reported individual voting violations did not affect the overall results of the council elections.
In the case of the Yerevan City Council elections, the threshold for parties is 4%, and for party alliances, it is 6%. Accordingly, the following forces have surpassed the threshold:
- "Civil Contract" Party - 24 mandates
- "National Progress" Party - 14 mandates
- "Mother Armenia" Party Alliance - 12 mandates
- "Republic" Party - 8 mandates
- "Public Voice" Party - 7 mandates
The CEC president also announced that representatives of the parties that surpass the threshold and enter the Yerevan City Council can submit self-withdrawal applications until September 28, at 11:00 AM.
