The Peace Agreement Will Contain 5 Points: Amirbekov
Negotiations in Yevlakh could lead to the signing of a peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan, with a draft agreement already handed over to Armenia, stated Elchin Amirbekov, special representative of the Azerbaijani president for special assignments, during a broadcast on Sky News Arabia.
“During the meeting, we discussed the reintegration frameworks for the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh ... we believe this dialogue can positively impact the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The two countries have begun discussing a peace agreement that could put an end to decades of crisis and hostility,” said Amirbekov.
According to him, the peace agreement between the countries will contain five points based on international law, particularly emphasizing that the two countries will be obligated not to interfere in each other's affairs.
“We have conveyed the draft of the peace agreement to the Armenian side, and we are waiting for their response,” Amirbekov announced. He noted that a separate agreement with the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh is not required.
