Putin on Developments in Nagorno-Karabakh
Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that he is in close contact with all parties involved in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He made these remarks during a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
“We are in close contact with all parties to the conflict, including the authorities in Yerevan, Stepanakert, and Baku. I hope we can achieve de-escalation and shift the resolution of the issue to a peaceful track,” said Putin.
He also informed that there are more than 2,000 civilians in the area of deployment of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh, with more than half being children. The Russian President also announced that the Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh are actively working with all parties involved.
“Our peacekeepers are actively working with all parties involved in the conflict. They are doing everything possible to protect the civilian population,” he emphasized.
