Video: Artsakh Authorities Decide to Allow Russian Cargo Through Askeran
The authorities of the Republic of Artsakh have decided to allow the entry of Russian cargo into the Republic via the city of Askeran, due to the acute humanitarian issues arising from the complete blockade imposed by Azerbaijan. This information was provided by the Artsakh Information Headquarters.
“The Government of the Russian Federation has initiated the provision of humanitarian aid to the Republic of Artsakh, considering the humanitarian crisis that has arisen in our republic. The aid, which contains essential goods produced in Russia, has recently been sent to Artsakh via the Russian Red Cross using their vehicles. The authorities of the Republic of Artsakh have decided to allow the entry of Russian cargo into the Republic via the city of Askeran in order to alleviate the acute humanitarian issues caused by the complete blockade imposed by Azerbaijan,” the statement noted.
Furthermore, an agreement has been reached to restore humanitarian cargo transport through the Lachin corridor, with the support of Russian peacekeepers and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Earlier today, we reported that according to Azerbaijani media outlets, based on the memorandum of cooperation between the Azerbaijani Red Crescent and the Russian Red Cross, the Russian Red Cross, at the initiative of the Russian government, provided a truck loaded with food and non-food items to meet the food needs of the Armenian residents of Nagorno-Karabakh. The truck crossed the Russian-Azerbaijani border at 14:30 local time and is expected to enter Nagorno-Karabakh via the Agdam-Askeran route.
