22 Dead Due to Flooding in Southern Brazil
At least 22 people have died as a result of an extratropical cyclone in southern regions of Brazil. This information was reported by O Globo, citing local authorities.
According to their data, 21 people have died in Rio Grande do Sul state, while another has fallen victim in neighboring Santa Catarina. Among the deceased is a rescue worker who lost his life while on duty.
The newspaper notes that in some areas, rainfall has caused river levels to rise by 20 meters, which has led to widespread flooding.
