Armenia's Ministry of Defense Issues Statement on Reservist's Appearance on Azerbaijani Side

Armenia's Ministry of Defense has issued a statement noting, "The announcement made by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense claiming that the Armed Forces of Armenia attempted a diversionary infiltration in the eastern section of the border is completely false. Previously, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia reported that preliminary data indicates that a reservist, participant of a training gathering, G. O., left the combat position voluntarily. The circumstances and possible scenarios of the reservist's appearance on the Azerbaijani side are being examined," the statement reads.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced that a so-called Armenian diversionary group had attempted to infiltrate Azerbaijani territory, with one of its members reportedly injured and arrested. It is worth noting that the Ministry of Defense of Armenia had previously stated that on August 16, reservist G. O. had allegedly left the combat position voluntarily.
