Artsakh Elects New National Assembly President
The National Assembly of Artsakh has elected Davit Ishkhanyan, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) faction, as its new president. According to reports from Armenpress, Ishkhanyan secured a total of 22 votes in favor and 9 against during a secret ballot.
The decision to elect Davit Ishkhanyan as the president of the National Assembly was presented by Vice-President Gagik Bagunts. His candidacy was put forward by the ruling Free Fatherland-Artsakh Democratic Party (KDMP) faction.
It is noteworthy that the position of the National Assembly president had been vacant following the resignation of Arthur Tokmasyan on July 29.
