Artsakh Parliament Urges Armenia to Seek International Mandate for Peacekeepers from the UN

The Artsakh Parliament has sent a message during an extraordinary session calling for appropriate measures by the UN to enforce peace in Artsakh. The message states, "The Russian peacekeeping force stationed in Artsakh does not have an international mandate, a circumstance that provides a green light for Azerbaijan to violate the trilateral agreement and threatens regional security and stability.

The Artsakh Parliament calls on Armenia to take immediate steps to endow the Russian peacekeeping mission with an international mandate by appealing to the UN Security Council and the General Assembly.

We urge Armenia to appeal to the UN, proposing appropriate actions to maintain peace and security in the region, in accordance with the UN Charter, emphasizing that an imperative resolution must be adopted that will enforce peace in Artsakh. The Republic of Artsakh is committed to saving its people from disaster. Therefore, we expect that these institutions will create conditions that will promote the dignified life of the people of Artsakh."
