Arrests of Pro-Russian Individuals in Armenia, Says Ushakov

We continue to assert that Armenia cannot aspire to EU membership while simultaneously reaping significant benefits from cooperation within the EAEU framework, stated Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of Russia.

"This issue must be resolved in some way. The President and the Prime Minister will undoubtedly discuss this. This conversation will take place against an unusual backdrop, as opposition leaders are being arrested en masse, especially those leaders who advocate for and have defended the restoration of traditional friendly relations between our two countries. This topic will certainly be discussed. And, of course, the current stance of Armenia's leadership raises great concern for us," emphasized Ushakov.
