Azerbaijan's Aliyev: We Gave Armenia's New Government Two Years to Seize the Opportunity Before the 44-Day War

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev addressed the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace negotiations, the post-war situation in the region, and the timeline for a peace treaty during a media forum held in the occupied city of Shushi.

“Before the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War, we gave Armenia's new government two years to seize the opportunity, from which they did not benefit. The establishment of a checkpoint on the Lachin corridor changed the situation; it was a message. But how many times should we hint? The operations in Parukh, and the situations on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in May 2021 and September 2022 raise the question: how many times can we send messages? Are they really that uncomprehending?” Aliyev stated.
