Tobacco Company Reimburses Over 338 Million Drams to the State
The tobacco production company has reimbursed the state for damages exceeding 338 million drams. This information was provided by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
According to the IC, within the framework of a criminal case, it was revealed that responsible persons from the company sold tobacco products in white boxes without any labeling in Armenia during the years 2023-2024. The case is being investigated for non-payment of taxes on a particularly large scale.
During the preliminary investigation, the company submitted corrected calculations to the tax authorities, resulting in a full reimbursement of the damage caused to the state amounting to 338 million 525 thousand 74 drams. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Note: A person accused of a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code, by a legally binding court judgment.
