Education Ministry Modifies Teachers' Certification System

The new academic year will also see continued reforms aimed at the professional development of teachers. The application process for voluntary certification has already begun and will continue until September 30, with the certification process organized in the subsequent months.

It is anticipated that the number of specialists receiving higher remuneration as a result of the certification will increase. The government’s new program also aims to transform the system of voluntary certification for teachers by introducing a salary rate of 300,000 drams for teachers who demonstrate higher performance, which will also be supplemented with a relevant bonus.

"The remuneration system for teachers should continuously evolve. We set no limits and believe that teaching should be one of the most prestigious and sought-after professions," emphasized Zhanna Andreasian.

The Minister reminded that around 4,000 new teachers entered schools last academic year and highlighted that more and more young people are considering teaching as a professional perspective each year.
