Portuguese national team player and forward for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo, has declared that he will not return to European football. This was reported by kommersant.ru.

“I will not return to European football, the door is finally closed. I am 38 years old; moreover, the level of European football has dropped significantly. The only worthy league is in England, it is considerably ahead of the others,” Ronaldo's words were quoted by journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

According to the player, the decision to play in Saudi Arabia was “100%” motivated by the desire to bring top players to the league. He cited the example of Juventus, suggesting that the Italian league was “dead” before his arrival, but has “come back to life” since then.

It is noteworthy that Cristiano Ronaldo is the champion of Europe in 2016, a five-time Ballon d'Or winner, and a five-time Champions League winner. He has played for Sporting CP in Portugal, Manchester United in England, Real Madrid in Spain, and Juventus in Italy.
