Hungary Signs Gas Purchase Agreement with Azerbaijan
Hungary has signed a gas purchase agreement with Azerbaijan, not waiting for the allocation of financial resources by the EU for infrastructure development in the Balkans. This was stated by Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
According to him, Azerbaijan is one of the most obvious sources of diversification for Hungary, but the gas pipeline system in Southeastern Europe does not allow for large volumes of supply.
The Hungarian Foreign Minister also added that Budapest and Baku are "close to signing an agreement to store about 50 million cubic meters of gas."
