Armenia Plans to Export Fish to Georgia

Armenia is planning to start exporting fish to Georgia, according to a report by Alik Media. The Caspianpost.com news website states that negotiations for supplying fish products to Georgia are already in place. The embassy emphasized that Armenia will continue its collaboration with Georgia with the aim of expanding trade economic relations.

This intention from the Armenian side is conditioned by the decision of Rosselkhoznadzor, which has banned the import of Armenian products, including fish. Since the end of May, Russia has systematically prohibited the import of various goods from Armenia. In the last two months, imports of flowers, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, potatoes, vegetables, strawberries, cherries, grapes, pears, apricots, dried fruits, live fish, and alcoholic beverages have been restricted. Additionally, the transportation of these goods to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) through Russia has also been banned.

The initial restrictions were imposed in Armenia against the backdrop of preparations for the parliamentary elections on June 7, and after the victory of Prime Minister Pashinyan's party, the number of restrictions sharply increased.
