Photos: San Fermín Festival Kicks Off in Spain, 6 Injured During Bull Run

The San Fermín festival has begun in the city of Pamplona, Spain, where people participate in traditional bull runs. According to AP news, over a thousand individuals are taking part in this event.

Reports indicate that several runners have been injured and have fallen, but the bulls did not gore them. As of this year, the regional office of the Red Cross has reported that six people have been injured so far. The event commenced at 8 a.m. local time and will last for one week.

The publication also notes that since 1910, 16 people have died during the bull runs, with the last recorded death occurring in 2009.
