Red Cross Staff Visit Armenian Prisoners in Azerbaijan
In late June and early July, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) once again visited Armenian prisoners of war detained in Azerbaijan, including two recently arrested soldiers, reports Armenpress.
Zara Amatuni, head of communication and prevention programs at the ICRC Armenia office, stated in an interview with Armenpress that individual meetings were held with the Armenian prisoners of war, providing them the opportunity to communicate with their families.
"In accordance with its mandate, the ICRC assesses the treatment of detainees and the conditions of their detention during its visits, as well as facilitates the restoration or continuation of contact with their families," Amatuni noted.
