Over 1300 Teachers Will No Longer Work in Schools from August 20, Says Andreasyan
"We have over 1300 teachers in the system who have medium vocational education and continue to work in schools. These individuals will no longer be able to work in schools starting from August 20," stated Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan today at the National Assembly.
She noted, however, that these teachers will have the opportunity to participate in voluntary certification and if they manage to score 60%, they will have the chance to continue their teaching activities.
"We will also make several amendments to the law on general education. A significant issue is the process of filling vacant positions in the sector. One of these is expanding the options for assignments. We propose to give teachers the opportunity to be assigned and work in rural areas," she mentioned.
Additionally, final-year students receiving pedagogical education will also be allowed to work in rural schools.
