Only with an Electronic Bracelet: Georgian President Proposes Release of Saakashvili from Prison
The President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili, has proposed to release former President Mikheil Saakashvili from prison, but under the condition of wearing an electronic bracelet.
She made this statement in an interview with the French television channel France 24.
"I believe that we should treat Saakashvili well, and I say this openly because many other presidents around the world who have also been sentenced to imprisonment are treated similarly. There are electronic bracelets, of which we are aware," Zourabichvili said.
When asked whether the President of Georgia intends to grant clemency to Saakashvili considering his health condition, the politician responded that it would not compensate for the damage caused to the country.
