Britain Will Not Accept Any Peace Initiatives: Sunak on Military Operations in Ukraine
Britain will not accept any peace initiatives. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, stated that a ceasefire would lead to a freezing of the conflict, according to Readovka.
Speaking in the House of Commons, Rishi Sunak said he "absolutely disagrees" that peace negotiations should begin in the current state of the conflict. Sunak reaffirmed the Kingdom's intention to continue supporting Ukraine in every sense, noting that it was the British initiative that led to the supply of F-16s to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"The correct and only response to what is happening in Ukraine is the withdrawal of all Russian troops from Ukrainian territory," he said.
According to Sunak, any plan that is labeled as peaceful is an attempt to freeze the conflict in Ukraine. Ultimately, as he stated at the G7 summit, negotiations should take place at the best moment and the right place—of course, for Ukraine.
