Do Attendees at Average Parties Use Drugs in Your Presence? Political Technologist to Ghazaryan

Political technologist Karen Kocharyan has addressed an open letter to the Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan, responding to the statements made by MP Eduard Aghajanyan regarding criminal activity, which was mentioned in the presence of the Minister.

Kocharyan asked the Minister to legally answer his questions:

1. I often attend average parties and have never noticed drug use at these gatherings. I believe you also frequently attend these average parties. Please respond: do the attendees at an average party in your presence use drugs or not? If they do, why aren’t these individuals detained, and if they don’t, why didn’t you object to the MP?
2. Have you verified specifically which nightclubs the MP referred to when mentioning 'average parties'? For instance, are such 'parties' common at the clubs on Teryan Street... or at cafes on Saryan Street?
3. Who organizes these 'parties', who derives pleasure from them, and who profits?

He noted that these questions are not rhetorical.

It is noteworthy that the MP from the 'Civil Contract' faction, Eduard Aghajanyan, stated yesterday that no average party occurs today without drugs, and he directed a question at the police chief regarding the nature of police raids occurring in venues with certain subcultural characteristics.

Minister Vahe Ghazaryan, in his response, stated that they conduct raids based on operational data received and are obliged to respond to this information. 'We have not significantly hindered the economic operator. I believe we have fulfilled our duties; the important thing is that we have results. If we didn’t have results, that would be another question,' he remarked, emphasizing that there is an ongoing process regarding the legality of police actions.
