We must put an end to the weaponization of the Armenian Genocide; we have died and will die from that shot. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a speech in the National Assembly.

“We need to put a stop to this process of weaponizing the Armenian Genocide. We have decided that the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide will not be part of our foreign policy agenda, and while we were formulating sentences to explain to our public why the events themselves showcased a rather eloquent explanation, just recently, the Israeli government started the process of recognizing the Armenian Genocide with utmost determination, and then with the same determination halted that process.

We all saw, we were compelled to see that international players, excuse my phrasing, have been bashing heads with the remains of our martyrs, but it is our heads that ache. The bones of our martyrs are being weaponized and used to fire at each other, yet we are the ones dying.

This was also an important event that opened the curtain and we all saw, we were forced to see what is happening behind it. We should no longer dream of another homeland because the Republic of Armenia is the homeland of our dreams, and we are happy to have that homeland. Our task should be to develop the state and pass it on as a legacy from generation to generation.

For this, it is necessary first to learn the lessons of our old and new history, about what happens when we tie our hopes for security to others,” Pashinyan noted.
