We Create an Opportunity for Selfies: Avinyan

“Do you remember the upper part of the Republic Square station, which was renovated a few months ago and is also a cultural value? Do you remember? And do you remember that Yerevan city hall proposed that we come and admire it? You might not reach here, so admire it through these photos. All the photos were taken half an hour ago.” This was stated by user Eduard Hayrumyan in a Facebook post, along with several photos.

This opinion was expressed during a regular operational meeting of the Yerevan city hall. “Certain areas around the monument to Aram Manukyan were not included in the construction, a separate competition has been announced, and renovation work is currently underway there. I believe it is manipulation to say that the quality of our work has been poor because construction has never been undertaken in those areas,” stated Khoren Grigoryan, acting head of the Department of Construction and Urban Improvement.

Yerevan Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan commented on the issue as follows:

“If we are doing a job, it should be done comprehensively, and there should be no areas left out that are not included in the project. Otherwise, we create an opportunity for people to take selfies with broken stones.”
