Former Deputy Chief of Staff Sues Suren Papikyan and the Ministry of Defense
Former Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Stepan Galstyan, currently detained in the "Kentron" penitentiary in Yerevan over the case of ineffectual missiles, has filed a lawsuit against Armenia's Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan and the Ministry of Defense itself. This information is reported by the judicial information system "Datalex."
Galstyan is requesting the court to annul the orders from October 28, 2022, number 3388-A, regarding the release of the reserve of the Armed Forces, and number 3666-A from December 2, 2022. The case has been assigned to Judge Ani Harutyunyan.
It is worth recalling that Stepan Galstyan was arrested on October 2, 2021, and subsequently detained in connection with a criminal case investigating abuses in the procurement process of military supplies for the needs of the Armed Forces, as well as cases of embezzlement of particularly large amounts.
