VIDEO: Police in Tbilisi Begin Using Rubber Bullets as Zurabishvili Addresses Protesters
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, currently in the United States, has canceled her scheduled meetings against the backdrop of ongoing protests in Georgia and announced that she will address the Georgian people.
According to Russian-language and Georgian media reports, Zurabishvili has shown support for the citizens who took to the streets against the foreign agents' bill and promised to veto the law on foreign agents. She noted that "those who voted in favor of this law today are violating the constitution."
The police in Tbilisi have started using rubber bullets after being targeted with Molotov cocktails. As reported, protesters in Tbilisi threw Molotov cocktails at the police. Water cannons and tear gas, which police used in an attempt to disperse the demonstrators opposing the adoption of the foreign agents bill, have not yielded the desired results. In the capital of Georgia, the crowd has begun throwing Molotov cocktails at law enforcement officials.
